It's time to Redefine

Functional Health

Education

Be part of the future of functional medicine

Help shape the next generation of health coaches

We are assembling the founding faculty of the Academy of Functional Medicine, a group of experienced practitioners, clinicians and specialists who will teach this diploma and set the standard for the coaches who follow.

If you are excellent at what you do and want your expertise to reach further, we would like to hear from you.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for established experts across functional health, nutrition, coaching, behavioural science and clinical practice. The common thread is depth.

You are recognised in your field, you hold the qualifications and professional standing to teach it credibly, and you still practise what you teach. Specialist knowledge matters, but so does the ability to make it land for people learning it for the first time.

Your Role At
The AFM

You bring the expertise and real-world insight. We handle the curriculum design, learning framework and production, so your knowledge is delivered to a professional standard without the burden of building a course from scratch.

As the expert, bringing your own voice and experience,  we  carry the design and production. Your commitment stays manageable alongside your own busy practice.

Beyond the Modules & Lectures

Founding faculty join on a paid, professional basis, with the specifics agreed directly. Beyond the engagement itself, teaching on the diploma puts your name and your work in front of the next generation of practitioners.

This is the start of a relationship, on a platform built to grow well past launch. As the academy grows, so do the opportunities to stay involved and build your standing alongside it.

What You Will Be Part Of

This is a chance to help shape a new standard in health coaching. As founding faculty, you will play a key role in a programme built around professional standards, practical frameworks and meaningful outcomes.

Your expertise will influence the next, new generation of practitioners, alongside a faculty selected for both their excellence and their commitment to advancing the field of functional health.

Register your interest and tell us a little about yourself. We review every application personally and will be in touch with what comes next.

Introducing The AFM Functional Health Coaching Diploma .

We built this diploma on a simple conviction. Information has never been more available, yet information alone does not make a capable coach. That comes from the integration of knowledge with skill, judgement and real experience.

The AFM Functional Health Coaching Diploma is how we put that conviction to work, a complete training designed to develop practitioners who can think, communicate and coach in the real world.

From the way each lecture is designed to the frameworks students learn and the supervised practice they complete, every part is there for a reason and built to a standard the field has not yet had. The sections below set out what the programme covers, what makes it distinctive and the professional standards it is designed to meet.
What sets this diploma apart is not only what we teach, but how we teach it. We have built it so that coaches leave able to do the work, not just describe it. For me, that is what real education looks like.

We Develop Exceptional Coaches, Not Just Graduates.

A comprehensive fourteen-module programme of 120 lectures, taking practitioners from foundations through to supervised real-client practice, built with the rigour to match its ambition.

From Foundations to Practice

The diploma is sequenced with purpose. It opens with orientation and the foundations of functional health, builds through the science, skills and tools of coaching, then culminates in supervised practice with real clients. Each module builds on the last, so learning is reinforced and applied..

Designed to Meet the Standards

The Functional Health Coaching Diploma is being designed to meet the UK and International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA) Professional Standards in full, across all four pillars. It is also being mapped to the Personalised Care Institute's standards for supported self-management to ensure viable career options in the NHS for graduates.

Built on Learning Science

Every lecture, activity and assessment is built on the AFM Learning Framework™, our integrated application of six evidence-based approaches: Gagné, Bloom's, Cognitive Load Theory, Mayer's principles of multimedia learning, andragogy and narrative design. The result? A curriculum engineered for retention, application and real-world practice.

The AFM Coaching Codex™

At the centre of the diploma sits the AFM Coaching Codex™, a system of coaching frameworks, assessment tools and practice protocols. It includes instruments such as LIFESCORES™ and The Coaching Bridge™, giving students a structured, repeatable method and technique. Faculty teach within a coherent system, not improvised material.

Ahead of the Field

Alongside the fundamentals, the diploma teaches what most programmes have not yet caught up to. That includes GLP-1 medications and peptides at diploma level and a dedicated module on functional AI in coaching practice, areas few comparable programmes cover at this depth.

Ready to Practise, Not Just Qualified

A qualification should be the start of a coach's journey, not the end of it. This diploma is built for readiness, through supervised practice with real clients, structured peer coaching and assessment that measures what a coach can do, not just what they recall.

We are building our founding faculty now, the practitioners, clinicians and specialists who will bring this curriculum to life on screen and shape the coaches who follow.
